Which Fukuoka city day ticket should you compare?#

For subway-only travel, compare the subway day ticket first; for bus-heavy travel, compare Nishitetsu city bus tickets. Tourist City Pass combines several modes, but can cost more than the rides you need. Products called a “Fukuoka one-day pass” are not interchangeable.

Tourist City Pass requires overseas short-stay visitor eligibility. A three-day visit does not imply a three-day City Pass. Compare each day's travel, then compare longer Yufuin or Beppu bus journeys with SUNQ.

Airport and Dazaifu: the service matters#

Fukuokakuko subway station is by the Domestic Terminal. Include an inter-terminal transfer when arriving internationally. The International Terminal–Hakata direct bus now uses Hakata Station Chikushi Exit, not Hakata Bus Terminal.

Even the City+Dazaifu Tourist City Pass excludes Tabito. Its Dazaifu coverage is by Nishitetsu rail from Tenjin via Futsukaichi. For Tabito from Hakata or the International Terminal, select a bus-inclusive product.

For Marine World, first choose your actual approach: Saitozaki on the JR Kashii Line, a bus or a ferry. Transport coverage and aquarium admission benefits are separate. Check current opening and entry conditions on the official Marine World site.

First use: City Pass, subway and Nishitetsu tickets#

  1. Buy: Check eligibility and current counters on the City Pass site. Subway day tickets are sold at stations; Nishitetsu paper tickets use listed outlets and are not sold onboard.
  2. Choose the day: Scratch exactly one correct year, month and day where required. For digital bus tickets, use my route linked by Nishitetsu and press Use just before the first ride.
  3. Board: Show City Pass at staffed railway gates. Take a bus numbered ticket where provided, then show the valid paper ticket or live digital screen when alighting. Insert the subway paper ticket at its gate and collect it.
  4. Check expiry: Nishitetsu 6/24-hour tickets must remain valid until alighting. Prepare battery and mobile data because activation needs a connection.

Eligible Nishitetsu city and Tabito paper tickets and 6/24-hour digital tickets include one accompanying primary-school child per adult. Select that calculator benefit only when the actual party qualifies; compare other children at the ordinary child price.

Is a day ticket cheaper for an airport return only?#

Illustrative input A: One adult takes only the Airport–Hakata subway return on the same day. ¥260 × 2 rides = ¥520. Individual tickets cost ¥120 less than the ¥640 day ticket. Add the real section fares if you plan more stops.

These examples use ordinary published fares and exclude discounts, hotel access and any assurance of a seat. Different dates, routes and sales channels can change the result.

Compare your actual airport, hotel and Dazaifu journeys in the pass calculator. Check day-ticket and 6/24-hour validity in the pass validity calendar, including the required alighting time.
