Osaka transport passes: Metro, Amazing Pass and QR use

Choosing Osaka Metro day, 26-, 30- and 48-hour tickets#

For one day of Metro and city buses, compare Enjoy Eco first. An attraction bundle is not always cheaper for a transport-focused trip. Check the exact product if you need Yumeshima or travel extending into the next day.

The old eMETRO/SURUTTO QRtto 26/48-hour products stopped sales, while a separate current 26/48-hour offer exists through the operator's tourist-site sales links. Do not assume that every product with that name ended or apply new conditions to an old voucher.

These tickets do not automatically cover JR, a whole private-rail journey to Kyoto or airport trains. Compare those sections separately.

A three-day Osaka stay does not establish that a Metro three-day product exists. Compare your real travel across all three days using current day and elapsed-hour products rather than treating a search suggestion as a product.

Amazing Pass: attractions, children and airport variants#

Standard Amazing Pass costs ¥3,500 for one day and ¥5,000 for two. There is no discounted child pass; children may buy and use the same adult-price pass. Individual child fares and admission can be cheaper when the itinerary includes free-age attractions.

Each participating attraction is usable once over the whole pass period, not once each day. KUCHU-TEIEN's free-entry condition is before 15:00; later visits have a discount condition, so do not count night entry as free. Check Osaka Castle Museum's own age and student concessions and required proof.

The ¥5,300 Kansai Airport 28-hour version lasts 28 hours from activation and adds one Nankai Airport→Namba journey. It excludes the return-to-airport direction and intermediate alighting between the airport and Sakai. Rapi:t reserved limited-express charges are extra. A standard Amazing Pass does not cover the airport journey.

Before purchase, check facility inclusion, hours and closures and the airport version's direction and validity. Osaka e-Pass excludes transport; do not confuse the Castle Museum with separate nearby attractions.

For a separate airport ticket, the published ordinary Airport Express one-way fare from Kansai Airport to Namba is adult ¥970 / child ¥490. Rapi:t adds a limited-express charge, making the regular-seat ordinary one-way total adult ¥1,670 / child ¥840. Check your chosen train and distinguish discount products.

From buying an Osaka QR pass to the first gate#

1. Open the official sales path. Start with the Metro digital-ticket list or Amazing Pass purchase and distribution guide.
2. Check the product and deadlines. Purchase confirmation is not activation. Distribute tickets before use when permitted, and check whether a tourist-channel group purchase activates everyone's tickets together.
3. Start just before use. Prepare battery, mobile data and email authentication. For a 03:00 operating-day product, follow its earliest activation rule; pressing Use just after midnight can assign the previous day.
4. Display the live QR ticket. Use a compatible gate reader; a bus-inclusive product also needs the bus reader at alighting. Screenshots or printouts do not replace live QR transport tickets.

WEST QR Kansai Mini is a separate JR product. Register the voucher bought through its designated overseas channel, then start after 04:00 on the first day. That does not mean every day of the consecutive three-day pass rolls over at 04:00. Do not borrow Metro QR conditions.

The same Osaka itinerary on a weekday and weekend#

Illustrative input: One adult takes Metro Umeda→Namba, Namba→Tennoji and Tennoji→Umeda once each on the same operating day, with no other rides. The regular-fare total is ¥770.

• Individual fares cost ¥50 less than weekday Enjoy Eco at ¥820.
• On Saturday, Sunday or a Japanese holiday, Enjoy Eco at ¥620 saves ¥150.

This example excludes Yumeshima, airports, JR and attractions. Recalculate with your real date, stations and passenger ages; do not select a weekend ticket for an ordinary weekday.

Does Osaka e-Pass include transport?#

Osaka e-Pass is an attraction pass without transport. Prices are ¥2,400 for one day and ¥3,000 for two, with the same price from age three. Add subway, bus and airport costs separately before comparing it with Amazing Pass.

The two-day product is consecutive, each facility is available once during the period and there must be at least 30 minutes from leaving one facility to entering the next. Entry times alone do not establish that this condition is met. Check the current facility list for time-limited attractions and distinguish the Castle Museum from nearby separate attractions.

Follow the official voucher and entry instructions and include only facilities you will actually visit. A print prohibition for a QR transport ticket does not automatically apply to every e-Pass voucher.
